1. Local operation
The main proxy endpoint runs on your Android device. Clients connect to it over the local network. You do not need to create an 8PROXY cloud account to use the proxy.
2. Request logs
The app displays a local rolling log of recent requests, including method, destination, status, and time. This data is used for diagnostics and stored in the application context. Logs may contain technical information about the hosts you access.
3. Diagnostics and analytics
The application build may use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for usage events and crash reports, as well as advertising SDKs. Data collection and processing by these services depend on their configuration and provider policies.
4. Network requests
To check the public IP, the app contacts an external IP detection service. Proxy traffic is sent to destinations selected by you or your client software through your carrier’s mobile network.
5. Your controls
You can stop the proxy, clear logs, disable analytics where that option is available, uninstall the app, and revoke Android permissions. Use Basic Auth and a key for the /newip control URL to protect local access.
